The symptoms of an infected tooth that needs a root canal includes:
- Ongoing toothache
- Pain in chewing or when you apply pressure
- Lingering sensitivity hot or cold temperatures
- Dark discoloration of the tooth
- Swelling or tenderness of gums around the affected tooth
Some of these symptoms mentioned above will also be present when you have a cavity, so a root canal may not always be needed. We encourage you to visit our dentist if you believe that you are in need of a root canal. It’s better to be safe than to be sorry!
